SB PHOTOGRAPHY 2
STREET photography
Street photography is in my opinion the most exciting expression of taking a picture, as a practice, street photography has an unbeatable plethora of emotions attached to it. Fear, curiosity, intrigue, creation, frustration, elation, sadness, all from the ability to capture. As a term Street Photography is so vast it cannot be contained to pavements, some of its best work isn't anywhere remotely like a street. What interests me most is the sense of classic street photography, for example Robert Frank, Gordon Parks, Fan Ho etc, but ultimately its how these images manifest in modern life and through modern photographers lenses. Photographers like Rueben Radding, Jerry Hsu and Kotzabasis Petros are implementing tactics from the old age of 1960s street photography into our contemporary perspective. In my work of Component 2, I will integrate these photographers and more to attempt to apply their legendary framing and subject selection into my work around the north west of England
“Street photography is the art of observing life in its most candid form. It's about finding extraordinary moments in ordinary places, capturing the essence of humanity in fleeting instants. Each frame is a story, each click a preserved memory of the world as it truly is.”- Eolo Perfido
